IDSPM Database Size

Is there a way to decrease the database associated w/ IDSPM via pruning of old data?  Over time, I created many different snort policies and deleted many, now my backup files are around 165mb.  Would it make more sense to wipe the DB and start over?  If so, how would I go about doing this? Thanks.

Re: IDSPM Database Size

This is a limitation of firebird, the backend database that idspm stand alone uses. One thing you could do is change the name of the database. it will automatically create a new one when it starts up, then use the import function to import your policies and sensors from the old database.

Cheers,

Jeff

Re: IDSPM Database Size

Jeff,

Will this also remove all the rules that are not associated with any policies? I noticed when I moved from bleedingsnort to emergingthreats that the bleeding rules are still in the db, just not associated with anything.
