| Hello i've got snort 2.8 (stable) and IDS Policy Manager 2.2. When i'm trying to upload rules to snort sensor i get the following error:

Hi, i've same problem with policy manager 2.2.0.20 for SNORT 2.7
I saw 'sorry for my english' network traffic between server and my workstation for understood the problem, and, strangly !! there is no trafic, the error appears immediatly after click button. No data exchange between manager and snort's server.

I will look into this to see why this could be happening. seems like it is a policy option that might be doing this as I haven't been able to repeat it yet. I will look into this a little more and I hope this will be fixed in the a new build that will be out before the end of the week.

What is the sensor snort version set to? This is done on the sensor form.

It seems like it is failing pulling down sensor settings. Can you tell me what options you have enabled for the sensor? I don't need specific values.. just what options were set.

I looked at this a little more detailed.. and I am wondering if a DLL didn't get updated. Did you have build 19 installed before you installed build 20?

yes, it's right !!! (i forgot thaht), i've 1.8.1 installed.
I will unsinstalled and delete any file of 1.8.1 version, and reinstall new version.
I will inform here if it's ok.

hello Jeff,
i had uninstalled all idspm properly, and re install latest version, but it doesn't work. Same problem.
Is it possible there is many DLLs on windows system repertory ? if it's case, which dlls can i delete ?

Microsoft has had so many bugs in installing/uninstalling dll’s that IDSPM keeps all dll’s in the application directory now. The one dll that I am really refereeing to is IDSPMLib.dll. Please click on it and make sure it is file version 2.2.0.20 or higher. If you haven’t done so already, 2.2.0.21 is available to registered users. I made a few changes to the part of code that was giving you trouble. Please let me know if that helps.

| I also installed IDS Policy Manager (build 21) on a fresh WinXP SP2 (no previous IDSPM installations). Unfortunately i again get the same error.
